THE FASTEST TRUCKS IN THE WORLD
If we want to talk about Guinness records, then let´s talk about the fastest truck in the world, which we would hardly find on our highways, but if you find yourself on some racing track, it is easy for it to speed at 600 km/h and to cover the quarter mile in six and a half seconds.
The truck in question is called Shockwave and is a 36,000 horsepower engine with flames coming out of the exhausts. It is not just any truck, in fact it looks like a rocket on rubber equipped with three powerful reactors, which are the same ones used by the United States Navy training planes.
The Shockwave is able to push 7 tons of cargo at 600 km/h and to stop it you don´t just put your foot on the brake, but you need to activate 2 military parachutes that produce a strong deceleration.
It is not a highway truck, as we said, but a vehicle that is exhibited in attraction shows and then it is also an ecological vehicle, because to make it move it requires about 600 liters of fuel.
As for the fastest trucks but suitable for transport needs, there are others and we wanted to ideally group them in a podium of the first three classified trucks. In first place is the Shacman X6000 800 HP, a vehicle equipped with a 16.6-liter engine, fully automated 16-speed S16AD gearbox. In second place, instead, is the Scania V8, which has an engine with 770 HP of power and a torque of 3,700 Nm; furthermore, it is equipped with the new automated Opticruise gearbox. The bronze medal is the Volvo FH 16 750 and is equipped with a 6-cylinder engine, 16.1-liter capacity and a torque of 3550 Nm at 1050-1400 rpm, characteristics that qualify the Volvo as one of the most powerful series trucks in the world.
