GREAT PERFORMANCE FOR THE RT E-TECH ELECTRIC TRUCK
Renault Trucks has announced that it will launch the new RT e-Tech in 2025, which in this new updated version achieves a range of up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. This performance is possible thanks to the integration of a new electric e-axle, which groups the elements of the transmission system in the rear of the vehicle, freeing up space to add new battery packs.
This new solution does not replace the current ones, but is also added with different configurations and equipment to meet the needs of hauliers.
A range of 600 kilometers on a single charge, together with the development of charging points scattered along the roads, hopefully by 2026, will allow Renault, but also all other operators, to achieve the much-desired equivalence of performance with diesel vehicles. This approach gives hope to Renault technicians, who already get daily mileages of over 700 kilometers from their vehicles and, moreover, do not want to overdo it with too particular performances, because oversized batteries penalize the payload, increase the total cost of operation and pollute the environment. It would be a counterproductive effect compared to the initial intentions which is to have a sustainable footprint for the environment around us.
Unfortunately, electric vehicles are struggling to establish themselves because they are also more expensive in maintenance and it is important at this point to completely rethink carbon-free logistics, reconsidering transport plans to intensify the use of vehicles and reduce the cost per kilometer.
