SPOTLIGHT ON ACTROS 300 AND E-CANTER NEXT GENERATION
In recent times, Daimler Truck Italia has been investing heavily in electric vehicles because it is a market that must adapt to sustainable transport within a few years and it is therefore necessary to invest in 100% electric products from the Mercedes Benz Trucks and Fuso brands: vehicles also from recently on display at the third edition of Letexpo-Logistic Eco Transport, the sustainable logistics and transport fair, are the eActros 300 Tractor and the eCanter Next Generation for short and medium range distribution with zero emissions.
They are very different vehicles from each other, but both adopt the exclusive eAxle technology which, by incorporating the electric motor/motors, transmission and inverter into the axle, offers maximum efficiency and simplicity of set-up.
The Actros 300 is ideal for moving containers between freight villages and has three battery packs, guaranteeing a range of up to 220 km. The batteries are rechargeable in direct current with a maximum power of up to 160 kW which allows you to reach 20% to 80% in an hour in just under fifteen minutes.
The eCanter Next Generation is a lightweight vehicle and can be used for urban and construction deliveries. Also in this vehicle there are three battery packs that use lithium iron phosphate cell technology, which allows for a long life and greater usable energy. Charging times for the batteries vary from 36 to 75 minutes in direct current and from 4 to 6 hours in alternating current, depending on the battery pack.
