MAN´S NEW ELECTRIC TRUCK MAKES DEBUT IN 2024
The production of this new vehicle will start in 2024 with availability in 2025 but there are already over 500 orders for the new electric truck from MAN for transport over long distances.
What we are experiencing at the moment is a technological revolution, which will allow already in 2030 to have half of the trucks produced with electric traction, but to carry out a reform, and we have said it several times, an infrastructural adjustment is needed, because if there are no public charging points for trucks, then this revolution will have no winners.
Technological change affects everyone. That´s why skilled labor is one of the keys to the success of this transformation. Here too, active support from politicians will be needed in the coming years to tackle the shortage of skilled workers and keep the technologies of the future in Europe.
Not only in production, for which MAN has already trained 2,600 employees in this new technology, but everywhere new know-how is needed so that electric trucks can be used in a wide variety of practical applications in the future.
The new electric truck from MAN can be recharged in just 45 minutes, practically the break time used by truck drivers when they make long journeys, and will be able to cover long distances per day of up to a thousand kilometres. Furthermore, with its variable battery configurations between 300 and 500 kWh of capacity, the truck will be able to transport anything from municipal solid waste to foods such as milk.
Man in partnership with other companies is working hard to install 1,700 high-performance recharging points for industrial vehicles along the main European roads.
