THE NEW VEHICLES FROM VOLVO TRUCKS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Volvo Trucks has developed a new line of electric trucks suitable for the construction sector, because they are vehicles with very low noise levels and zero exhaust emissions.
The demand for electric transport for construction sites has grown in recent years from companies and they are vehicles that generally travel short distances, operating on repetitive cycles such as the delivery of building materials to construction sites. And then they are not vehicles with a particular line, on the contrary they are the same trucks with the same functions as traditional trucks, such as cement mixers or cranes, only they are electric.
In this sector, electric trucks not only provide environmental benefits, but due to being electric, they have easy maneuverability, are flexible thanks to a variety of cab options, battery pack configurations and wide availability of axles and steps. The new vehicles have a battery capacity between 540-180 kWh.
Volvo´s goal is that the entire production of electric trucks can now be a consolidated reality by 2030 and that is why the opening of sales has already started in December 2022 with series production starting from the month of March.
Customers will be able to choose, as we said, the electric versions of models they are already familiar with: Volvo FM and Volvo FMX with integrated applications.
Producing electric vehicles also means providing customers with new assistance and this is why Volvo has activated 2,300 assistance points in around 130 countries, while 12 countries around the world are involved in the assembly of these vehicles.
