THE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE MARKET GROWTH BY 9.3% IN JANUARY

THE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE MARKET GROWTH BY 9.3% IN JANUARY
After almost a year of constant decline in registrations, 2023 finally opened with a clear turnaround, recording a 9.3% growth in commercial vehicle registrations in January compared to the same period of the previous year.
Due to the economic crisis, or for one reason or another, the car and road haulage market has always been in turmoil, there has been no peace, with the risk that the aging process of the vehicle fleet would advance inexorably with all the environmental consequences of the case. The risk is averted for the moment but if we continue with the current trend of registrations, which is rather slow, estimates say that it would take 26 years to renew the entire fleet of commercial vehicles in circulation.
In a country where the circulation of goods takes place by road, we cannot afford the luxury of wasting any more time and this is why the sector organizations are launching a heartfelt appeal to speed up the development of the infrastructure network for recharging electric motors, perhaps by granting a 50% tax credit for investments made from 2023 to 2025, since from 2035 there will be a stop to the sale of cars with traditional fuel.
Environmental lovers or simply far-sighted people certainly don´t wait for the legislative obligation to trigger, but they already adapt well in advance; in fact, the hybrid vehicle market closed 2022 with 10.9% more than the previous year, while diesel sales are starting to decline. Maybe this is the right time.
