THE DECREE ON THE SAFETY OF MEANS OF TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRTURE PUBLISHED IN THE OFFICIAL JOURNAL
Considering the extraordinary need and urgency to adopt provisions aimed at favoring the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the realization of investments aimed at improving mobility between the different regions in safety, at reducing the existing infrastructural gap, at promoting activities of study, research and development in the sector of infrastructure sustainability and mobility, also by encouraging the purchase of less polluting vehicles, as well as technological, organizational and material innovation, while ensuring new forms of intermodality and network services, the Council of Ministers issued the Decree Law 10 September 2021, n. 121 containing urgent provisions on investments and safety of infrastructures, transport and road traffic, which have modified some articles of the highway code.
The decree provides for some interventions based on the different types of transport and in particular the decree strengthens the role of the National Agency for the safety of railways and road and motorway infrastructures (ANSFISA) to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the transport system. checks on the various transport infrastructures.
As regards the section of this site, in the coming days we will deal with the main innovations introduced in the road transport sector, but for the moment we would like to emphasize that in order to facilitate investments to reduce the infrastructural gaps in the territory, accentuated in this period of pandemic, the government has allocated a fund of 4.6 billion euros to be used between 2022 and 2033.
Finally, the decree also intervenes on the support provided for economic operators in the face of the health emergency. As part of the support measures necessary to tackle the crisis triggered by Covid-19, the concessions for fuel distribution and catering services on the motorway network are extended for two years.
