THE NEW GENERATION OF THE MERCEDES-BENZ E-SPRINTER IS OUT
The Mercedes Benz Sprinter was originally a light commercial vehicle produced by the German car manufacturer in 1995 and was awarded the prestigious international Van of the Year award in that year.
Various updates were prepared between 2013 and 2014, which concerned the restyling of interiors and exteriors, as well as new safety installations such as the anti-collision system.
Finally, a last update of the vehicle concerned the electrification of the entire vehicle with the new generation of E-Sprinter, announced at the end of 2020. And it could not be otherwise, given that the vehicle electrification project is now unstoppable. especially in the commercial vehicle sector, where several more cities are restricting access to conventional fuel vehicles. And therefore battery-powered vehicles are becoming important for the world of work.
Mercedes-Benz has invested 350 million euros in this ambitious electrification project of the model and includes a battery pack of 3 different capacities.
The new E-Sprinter will be built in a total of three different German plants that have already been converted for electrification also thanks to staff training.
The new vehicle will be marketed in early 2022, because the German manufacturer´s strategic objective is to meet the "Ambition 2039" objectives.
A further next generation E-Sprinter will also be produced in a van version and as an open model, so that it can be adapted as a basic vehicle for ambulances, motorhomes and refrigerated vans.
