CALENDAR ON THE PROHIBITION OF CIRCULATION

CALENDAR ON THE PROHIBITION OF CIRCULATION
The Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport has made known by decree of the Minister n. 604 of December 29, 2020, the calendar of days with the times when heavy vehicles cannot circulate outside built-up areas.
The calendar takes up the same pattern as in 2020 and lists 76 days of driving for industrial vehicles with a total mass exceeding 7.5 tons. As always, the rationale of the provision is to guarantee motorists and all those who move for extra-work reasons to be in conditions of maximum safety.
The driving ban also does not apply to emergency or rescue vehicles such as firefighters, military vehicles, police vehicles and even municipal trucks or vehicles for the transport of municipal solid waste.
Specifically, the driving ban is extended to all Sundays from 09.00 to 22.00, while on the weekends of the summer months the block is from 7 to 22, while this year in April on the occasion of Easter there is a sequence of five days, from 2 to 6 April, where the ban is categorical.
This year due to the Covid emergency, it is still not known what the future restrictions could be, so if there were to be an extension of the state of emergency, unfortunately, like last year, the traffic ban would not only affect trucks. , but also all cars, because there would be no vacation spots to reach. However, those who intend to move on off-limits days must obtain special authorization from the Prefect.
If the vaccination campaign should work and the emergency returns, then we could trust in a summer season and a year-end the normal compliance with the ban, as per decree that also concern the following days: Ferragosto (August 15), Solemnity of All Saints (November 1), Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8), Christmas (December 25) and the memory of Saint Stephen the martyr (December 26).
