Mercedes continues the special tribute to one of the most famous models of the German car manufacturer, the Actros, already truck of the year in 2020 and now continues to relive its saga with a new limited edition, which pays homage to the formidable cars performance of its brand with the new Actros R5.
It is called R5 because R stands for racing, that is to say "race" and the number 5 to indicate that in 2020, as we said at the beginning, the Actros model won the title of truck of the year in 2020, for the fifth time since its inception in 1996.
The Actros R5 is, therefore, a special edition suitable for Formula 1 racing competitions of trucks and is special not only in name, but above all in setting up with Euro 6d engine and truly innovative driving assistance systems. The color with which it was packaged already recalls the character of racing with its particular shades, the main reason why it was launched on the market.
For the realization of this new model, which can already be ordered, Mercedes turned to an all-Italian company, RinoCustom, a formidable partner from Campania that took care of the customization of the industrial vehicle, from ad hoc painting, we said, to stainless steel accessories and ABS applications.
The new R5 has a six-cylinder engine and an engine that is characterized by the presence of an asymmetrical exhaust gas turbocharger, for the steel pistons, for the double overhead camshaft and for the exclusive X injection system. -pulse Common Rail with pressure amplifier.
