THE NEW ELECTRIC GENERATION OF ACTROS FROM MERCEDES-BENZ COMING IN 2021
The first electric generation of Actros by the Mercedes Benz manufacturer dates back to 2016 and since then several experiments have been carried out to make this "monster" increasingly avant-garde. In 2020, the Actros was the truck of the year for the fifth time that consecrated it as the best truck with a history full of successes that began in 1997 and then continued with subsequent generations who have continued to establish themselves on the competition. . Today this success continues with the series production starting from 2021 of the new e-Actros, the new generation of electric truck for heavy distribution on short haul, whether in the city, in the suburbs or on the motorway.
This first generation of Actros in electric version will be powered by lithium batteries with a range of about 200 kilometers and offers the same performance as the normal diesel model. The first public appearance of the new e-Actros model will take place with two- and three-axle chassis cabs.
As for load capacity, the new e-Actros does not suffer from inferiority complexes with its diesel version counterpart and will be mass-produced, as we said from next year at the Bavarian plant in Worth. According to Mercedes managers, the e-Actros represents a real milestone for the entire Bavarian plant, thus expanding the company´s portfolio for a further step towards a completely "ever green" transport.
The mobility of the future will be more and more power and also new perspectives approach not only from an environmental point of view, but also economical, because this new investment has prompted Mercedes to create new jobs. The site, in fact, is working at full speed to meet the increasingly pressing needs of many customers in terms of electric traction.
New jobs are not only in terms of quantity, but also quality because the production of such sophisticated means, requires experienced and qualified staff to design high-voltage systems with really essential skills.
