INCREASE IN THE HEAVY VEHICLE MARKET IN OCTOBER 2020
Timid sign of recovery in the heavy vehicle market, which has slowed down compared to the same period last year, but in any case the data is positive, because after so many negative signs, a plus sign is finally recorded, which translated into figures, means a considerable increase in 3.9% compared to October 2019, with 1,910 units registered against 1,838.
Due to the coronavirus emergency, these first ten months of 2020 are to be forgotten because the entire sector reports a loss of 17.5% compared to the same period in 2019 (16,223 registrations against 19,665).
The data was provided by the Unrae Study and Statistics Center on the basis of registration data provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
In the heavy vehicle sector, with a total mass of 16 tons or more, the market increase was 11.7% on October 2019 (1,627 units registered against 1,457), which brings the sector´s result to the top ten months of the year at -16.9% on the same period of 2019 (13,125 registrations against 15,786).
The most significant data is the one concerning the sector of light vehicles, which have a total ground mass between 6 and 16 tons, where, unfortunately, there is a loss of about 29% compared to October 2019. Yet it is a curious fact, because in the summer months there was a big step forward, which stopped in the autumn, but the explanation is simple, because in the months of July and August all those vehicles whose deliveries had been disposed of were blocked by the lockdown and therefore diluted until the month of September.
The sector insiders hope the end of 2020 as soon as possible, because beyond the increases, which a single sector records, it must still be said that the entire industrial vehicles sector records a considerable loss which this year will amount to - 16-17% compared to 2019.
