COVID 19: FREE INSURANCE POLICY FOR 4700 DRIVERS

COVID 19: FREE INSURANCE POLICY FOR 4700 DRIVERS
The managers of the bilateral body Ebitral, a trade union association that brings together road hauliers from the province of Bergamo, the most affected by the coronavirus emergency among the Italian provinces, have given over 4,700 road hauliers, aged 70 and over, an insurance policy against the risks of contagion from Covid 19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. Thanks to an agreement signed with the Generali Company, it was possible to guarantee these workers, that like all Italian road hauliers continue to work responsibly to ensure the regular supply of basic necessities to the whole country with the risks that may derive from a insidious contagion like that of this virus which still remains in some ways unknown.
Guaranteed insurance coverage is independent of the existence of health insurance plans and affects 350 companies in the province of Bergamo, but similar solutions have been recorded throughout the country to deal with this type of emergency.
The initiative not only gives economic but also psychological support to possible new patients, because the disease can weaken the patient not only physically, but also psychologically, because uncertainty is generated about what the developments of the illness, especially in terms of hospital stay or home isolation at home. And this is why we have intervened with an indemnity of 100 euros for each day of hospitalization above the seventh for a maximum of additional 10 days with a series of post-hospitalization services, including sending a doctor, transport of the patient for various needs and the sending of a family worker at home, who can be a babysitter or a person who simply delivers the groceries.
The policy is expected to expire on December 31, 2020 when it is hoped that Covid 19 is just a bad memory.
