ACTROS OF MERCEDES BENZ IS THE NEW 2020 TRUCK
If in 2019 the prestigious award went to Ford´s F-Max model, for 2020 the “Truck of the Year” award was assigned to the Actros model of Mercedese-Benz, on the occasion of the 23rd edition of the Ecomondo 2019 Fair.
Since this recognition was established in 1977 by the Association which brings together all the publishers of the specialized magazines dealing with commercial vehicles, Mercedes-Benz has won this award 8 times, of which four with the Actros model, which is confirmed the commercial name among the most widespread in the world.
At the beginning of 2018 we presented in this section a new Actros with motor, completely electric and silent, while at the end of 2019 we present another model, a latest generation of trucks with a six-cylinder in-line engine MO 471 approved Euro 6d with numerous innovations technologies that have been developed.
The engine with this new concept of sustainability and efficiency both in terms of exhaust emissions and also in terms of increasing road users´ safety, substantially reduces the risk of accidents. A truck that is environmentally friendly and therefore could not fail to have the prestigious recognition in a fair like that of Ecomondo for environmental sustainability.
Mercedes-Benz confirms itself with Actros as a leader in terms of safety with a partially autonomous driving system, which intervenes on the braking system and on the accelerator, recognizing pedestrians and obstacles that are still and moving on the roadway.
Finally, the new Actros records a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 3%, even reaching 5% thanks to the expansion of the functions.
