NEW MODEL DAF CF FAW, THE 8X4 TRIDEM
At Matexpo in Kortrijk, Belgium, the Dutch company Daf presented a new model of the CF FAW with an 8x4 4-axle chassis called Tridem in an exhibition dedicated to new construction technologies, that is, it has a front axle and the other three grouped in the back. The new acronym Faw was also coined.
What are the changes compared to previous editions? First of all, the second and third axles are traction, while the fourth is towed and steering, furthermore the arrangement of the wheels makes it possible to contain the steering operation, maintaining a minimum diameter of 15.6 meters, making the model suitable for operations of yard. It also has a total weight of 32 tons.
This new model is suitable for any type of smooth or irregular road and is also available as a tractor version. It is a model that has been created to satisfy heavy-duty requirements, ranging from transporting containers or tanks to transporting waste to general distribution.
Key words are maximum transport efficiency, 7% less fuel consumption, up to a quintal payload, excellent driving comfort and high vehicle availability.
Daf is a company that has been on the market since 1928 and owes its success to the excellent balance between quality and price. The CF model, which in this new version is modified and improved, was declared the truck of the year in 2018, winning the prestigious title "Truck of the Year".
