TRUCK: THE OPERATING COSTS FOR AUGUST 2019 ARE PUBLISHED
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has recently published an update on the cost of diesel for the trucking industry and it was found that the total consumer price at 31 July 2019 was 1,482.29 per thousand liters of which 597.59 euro is the industrial price, 267.30 euros is VAT while 617.40 is the excise tax.
The Unatras (National Union of Freight Transport Associations) on this topic asked for a meeting with the newly appointed Transport Minister, Paola De Micheli, to request the re-publication of the indicative reference values for the company´s operating costs, but also greater operability and effectiveness of payment times by transport companies.
Among the other things that Unatras asks to tackle is also the establishment of a national fund for the renewal of the vehicle fleet, the restoration of the system of revisions of heavy vehicles at civil engines, the revitalization of the role of the Central Committee and of the Register of hauliers, as well as the contrast to the policies concerning traffic bans around the Brenner.
But at this point in time it is the diesel costs that have risen on average since the beginning of the year when the consumer price in January and February was around 1,450 and then increased to 1,500 per 1,000 liters of diesel last spring . Now the price, as we said, has decreased, but we are on the eve of an important and demanding economic maneuver, because there is an unfortunate increase in VAT that must be avoided at all costs. Consumers await answers from this government on which they have placed their trust. There are at least € 23 billion to be found and it will not be an easy task.
