AIR POLLUTION: CARS POLLUTE MORE OF TRUCKS
According to research conducted by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), an independent American organization that studies transport problems, polluting emissions from cars would be more harmful and harmful than those produced by trucks. It is a curious thing, but in reality there would be few doubts about the goodness of the research, because the study group has been analyzing the effects of the environmental and health impact of the various means of transport for many years, above all analyzing the harmful effects of the diesel cars that, based on this ratio, would be more polluting than ten times more than trucks.
The researches that have produced, as we said, these alarming results, have been conducted on heavy vehicles in Germany and Finland and have discovered that the trucks emit 210 milligrams Nox per kilometer, diesel cars, on the other hand, practically double with about 500 milligrams per km.
The Nox for non-experts is nothing but a generic abbreviation that collectively identifies all the nitrogen oxides and their mixtures, which are produced as by-products during combustion. They have really harmful effects and especially aggravate the conditions of asthma sufferers and in general those who suffer from chronic respiratory diseases or heart disease, causing in Europe, to name just one example, thousands of deaths each year.
In truth, as of 2013, all diesel-powered heavy vehicles and from September 2017 all diesel cars are equipped with real-time emission monitoring devices, but unfortunately these measures were deemed insufficient to reduce smog.
The more time passes, the more our planet becomes ill not only because of pollution, but also by other factors, because man systematically destroys the environment and the natural resources that make it up. It is necessary for everyone to make a commitment to their preservation, changing lifestyles also because certain consequences can be harmful and irreversible. And the disastrous climate changes are already an example.
