REFUND REIMBURSEMENT II QUARTER 2019
The deadline for requesting reimbursement of excise duties on diesel purchased by transport haulage companies in the second quarter of 2019 expires next July 31.
The excise tax is a tax imposed on the purchase of diesel fuel and despite all the speeches that were made in the last electoral campaign on the possibility of decreasing it or even eliminating it, it still weighs heavily on fuels as well, but in certain conditions it can be recovered with a special request of both public and private companies, which carry out transport in the national and European territory.
To obtain the recovery of the excise duties it is necessary to present, as we were saying, a direct request to the Customs Agency with all the invoices relating to the purchase of the diesel subject to reimbursement attached. Invoices to be reimbursed, however, must also include the vehicle registration number, which was refueled. In fact, if for the purposes of electronic invoicing the indication of the license plate is not necessary, in order to obtain the reimbursement this annotation is necessary.
Another essential condition for obtaining reimbursement is that the fuel purchased must be used for vehicles of category 3 to 6 euros and with a total mass equal to or greater than 7.5 tons. We refer, therefore, to refrigerated vans and vehicles used for specific transports. Even companies that use rented or leased vehicles for their fleet can access the tax refund.
At first it was wanted to exclude from the reimbursement the Euro 3 vehicles, but then also the Budget law for 2019 confirmed this facility even if it is a matter of means that have a greater environmental impact and for this government, defined of the change where the 5 Stars call themselves environmentalists, polluting vehicles should pay more. In Italy, however, where the fleet is still very old, on the one hand a different forecast would have resulted in the exclusion of most of the vehicles in circulation, but on the other, however, it damages those who have purchased last generation vehicles.
