IRON KHIGHT from Volvo: the fastest truck in the world

Like cars, trucks also participate in speed races and when they can, they also break world records. One of these is Iron Khight, a fully-modified truck from Volvo Trucks that has exceeded the speed records for distances of 500 and 1000 meters in two versions:
• Shooting at 500 meters: 13.71 seconds
• Shooting at 1000 meters: 21.29 seconds
The Iron Khight has a 6-cylinder engine of 13 liters and four turbos with an output of 2,400 horsepower.
The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is also a record with a standing start in just 4.6 seconds (similar times to a Ferrari twenty years ago), while the top speed is 276 kilometers per hour, superior to many sports cars even today. The performance of the engine is also impressive, especially considering the weight the engine is accelerating; we basically talk like two large SUVs put together.
A truck like this is not meant to run on our roads and that is why it has not been so far and will never be marketed in this monstrous version, but these experiments allow us to develop a technology, which then Volvo technicians will exploit in normal design of the vehicles marketed by the Swedish company.
