COST OF OIL FOR AUTOTRACTION IN JANUARY 2019
On the website of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, the cost of diesel fuel for vehicles was published every month, net of taxes. The update is useful for sector operators for invoicing to be carried out in February.
The total price for consumption of diesel fuel reported by the Ministry of Economic Development in January 2019 was € 1,434.73 per thousand liters. The same value can be expressed in euros per liter by dividing by one thousand. This value must subsequently be separated from current VAT by dividing it further by 1,22, as VAT currently applied amounts to 22%.
In the specific case of vehicles under 7.5 tonnes, the discounts of any higher charges for excise duties are not taken into account. Therefore the monthly data that interests, will be obtained as follows:
Consumer price per liter = 1.434.73 / 1000 = 1.43473
Value of the unit cost per liter of diesel = 1,43473 / 1,22 = 1,176008196 = 1,176 (rounded to the 3rd figure).
For vehicles with a total load mass of more than 7.5 tonnes, account should also be taken of any increased charges for excise duties. Since the discount of excise duties per liter still remains equal to 0.21418609 euros per liter, ie at the level established by the Determination of the Customs Agency, the monthly data that interests, will be obtained as follows:

= 0.96182210 = 0.961 (rounded to the 3rd digit).
