Ban on circulation: the calendar announced in 2019
The Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport has announced, as every year, by ministerial decree n. 525 of 4 December 2018 the calendar of the days with the times in which heavy vehicles can not circulate outside the population centers.
The objective of the provision is to ensure that drivers and all those who travel for vacation the conditions of maximum security in periods of greater traffic.
The limitations concern all vehicles with mass exceeding 7.5 tons used for the transport of goods, those that are exceptional or have exceptional loads, and finally those vehicles that transport dangerous goods. This prohibition does not apply to emergency or rescue vehicles such as those of firefighters, military vehicles, police vehicles and even trucks or municipal vehicles for the transport of solid urban waste.
Specifically, the prohibition of circulation is extended to all Sundays from 09.00 to 22.00, while during the weekends of the summer months the block is from 8 to 16, because it is recorded in the first part of the day the greater traffic by of drivers to reach vacation spots. On the holidays of precept, however, the stop is from 9 to 22 as Ferragosto (August 15), the solemnity of All Saints (November 1), the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8), Christmas (December 25) and the memory of Saint Stephen martyr (December 26).
Who intends to move in the days of prohibition must obtain a special authorization from the Prefect.
Lastly, paragraph 3 of the art. 14 which says: "within three months from the date of entry into force of the provisions of the aforementioned ministerial decree, the possibility of making changes and additions aimed at reconciling the levels of traffic safety with measures aimed at encouraging an increase in the competitiveness of the ´trucking. "
