New Mercedes Actros
The new Actros 2019 model, which represents the new flagship vehicle in the Mercedes-Bens truck range, was presented at the International Motor Show in Hanover. Although the new model aims at new technologies, the new Actros is loyal to its tradition in a certain sense, but has a large number of cutting-edge equipment, which has improved efficiency, reliability and service economy. and security. The changes compared to the previous model concern a series of refinements to the aerodynamics and the adoption of a new LED light module located in the upper part of the front light clusters.
Moreover, there are no external rear-view mirrors, which have been replaced by two thin wings, which are located on each side of the cabin, equipped with a micro-camera, which give a multimedia vision, improving the overall efficiency of the vehicle from an aerodynamic point of view. therefore reducing fuel consumption up to 1.5%. The driver can have a view of the environment behind it through two screens, which are located inside the cabin and this new system allows numerous functions, all designed to meet the needs of the driver; in fact, the cameras follow the entire movement of the vehicle during cornering and maneuvers and are activated automatically when the driver engages reverse gear. Other features are provided in the new model of Actros that automatically detect the distance with other vehicles and the activation of video surveillance systems.
As far as consumption values are concerned, Mercedes reports that they can drop by a further 3% on the motorway and up to 5% less on urban roads.
Other technological innovations concern the interior of the cabin with an unprecedented digital instrument panel with two color screens, one of which inside the steering wheel and the other placed to the right of the first.
Finally, in this new model of Actros a semi-assisted driving module, which is a new device that helps the driver acting independently on both the accelerator and the brake, as well as being able to put the vehicle back in the lane of march.
