New incentives for training
Also for 2018 the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transportation has allocated a sum of 9.6 million euros to be allocated to road haulage companies to finance training projects in business management and competitiveness development.
The recipients of these training courses are the members and administrators of the road haulage companies, as well as the employees or employees included in the national collective agreement for logistics, transport and shipments. The training courses aimed at gaining access to the profession of lorry driver and the acquisition or renewal of qualifications required for the exercise of the same profession are excluded from the contributions.
The maximum contribution payable for the training activity is set according to the following thresholds:
• € 15,000 for micro-enterprises (which employ less than 10 people);
• 50,000 euros for small businesses (which employ less than 50 people);
• 130,000 euros for medium-sized companies (employing fewer than 250 people);
• € 200,000 for large companies (which employ 250 or more)
The expenses that companies can report for the purpose of the contribution must obviously be related to the teaching activity and therefore concern the teaching staff, tutors, travel expenses, materials, supplies and related equipment.
The training activity must start on 4 December and finish on 3 June 2019 and no later than 45 days after the end of the training course, the cost of the costs incurred according to the estimate presented at the time of application must be sent electronically. To avoid fraud, companies must submit invoices certifying the payment, or present a surety guarantee that the company must stipulate in favor of the State for a renewable one-year period.
