DRIVING LICENSE FOR HEAVY VEHICLES: AGE LIMIT AT 65 YEARS
Salt from 60 to 65 years is the maximum age allowed to drive lorries, articulated lorries and lorries. With a law that was approved in the last parliamentary term, the highway code was amended, raising the age quarrel, including the possibility of further raising it, from year to year up to 70 years, after obtaining from part of the driver of a specific certificate, which verifies the physical and psychological requirements, after a specialist visit that must be done annually.
This important innovation comes after years of discussion in Parliament, because it was reflected on the fact that in this sector there is no fast generational change, in the sense that the older people are late in leaving the world of work, later the young can enter. This aspect has appeared to be very simplistic, since in any
case a truck driver before having the release of a driving certificate, must pass severe clinical examinations, so nothing in this respect is left to chance; moreover, the same modification law also provides for drivers of articulated lorries and lorries with a total mass of more than 20 tons, the limit that rises from the current 65 to 68 years.
These changes represent an important change, because it has been discussed for some time and has now become a reality, standardizing a discipline at European standard levels.
